Fund Raising

2009 & 2010 Jewellery Raffles

Margaret Howard, one of our Country Members, from Westport, who makes fabulous jewellery, donated necklaces for us to raffle. One raffle was run within Canterbury Guild, and two others were run at our UFO Weekend at Living Springs, a retreat venue on Banks Peninsula. Lucky winners were Marilyn Snook, Carole Holdem and Margaret Evans. Those who were not so lucky had the chance to purchase, so winners all round.

2010 Calendars

In 2010 we started Fundraising by producing a Calendar of Embroideries that featured in our Biennial Exhibition - Threadworks 09 - A Stitch In Time A very successful fundraiser with Calendars being sold throughout New Zealand.

2010 Christmas House

Rosemary Moffatt, one of our members, set up her house showing her love of Christmas, and generously opened it to the public on Saturdays in November and December. Christmas lovers of all ages, came through the house, smiled and enjoyed the ambiance and atmosphere of Christmas, with the table set for dinner, and the aroma of Christmas Cakes baking in the oven. We had Calendars for sale, and raffles, which were very popular. Thank you Rosemary for a wonderfully generous way of raising funds for Conference 2012
